Early Color Electrifies

In the Green
Mountains of Vermont
this is what I viewed looking down
Cabot Plains Road past a farm, past Burtt's
Orchard, on a sunny end-of-summer, early-fall
day. There were two plein air painters by the tractor.

In the middle
my eye centered on color
and my mind centered on electricity.
