Black Bear Sighting
Oh, Wow, look, a Black Bear...
American Black Bear (Ursus americanus)
here on Cabot Plains Road, Cabot, Vermont...
May 6, 2017...

1
"Look, a bear," exclaimed Ruthie. "Did you see it?"
Bruce was busy snapping a photo so he never saw it...
even though it was right there in the photo.
Do you see it? Look closer at the
phone poles...or look below.

2
There it is. Big? Yes a pretty good size because...

3
You can see the compression of the
dirt/mud road in his track. Must be weighty
since it compressed the auto tire tracks completely.
See it inside the auto tracks? In case you miss it,
look again below...

4
Black Bear track outlined in red,
smooth inside the outline, and the
auto tire tracks overlay with orange.
Look again at the unmarked photo and
now it will likely pop out to you.

Hmm, better take in the
bird feeders / bear feeders tonight...

Story by a graduate of a university that's
home to the Maine Black Bears of

Beautiful gestural watercolor, Bruce!
The angle of the head says it all and the legs seem to move....
Great colors also.
