Purchasing Paintings:
All watercolors (except
62, Library Blocks, a gift to the library) are for sale. The solid teak frames
are included and may be hung or stand on a surface. The price is $100 plus
$5.00 sales tax. For paintings sold during the exhibition I'll be donating half
of all sales to the library's children's room. You may purchase online by
emailing me at bruce@brucemcmillan.com or at the library's circulation desk, payment in check or cash at
the library or check by mail to me, the painting marked sold upon receipt of
the check. Once you've paid for your selection a silver star will be placed on
the painting's title tag to indicate it's sold. However, paintings can not be
picked up until after the exhibition closes on Labor Day, September 2nd. If you
can not pick yours up, include $10.00 for shipping and I'll ship it to you.
No paintings are signed
yet. All sold paintings will be signed on their back at the conclusion of the
exhibition. Like Georgia O'Keeffe, I sign on the back to avoid the visual
distraction of a signature.
The Exhibition Opening
June 27,
2013
Thank you Chip Schrader, Library
Director, for enthusiastically hosting the exhibition opening event. It was great to see our librarians, Sheila Dube and Marie Plouffe, along
with Pat McDougal, and Jack and Ellen McAdam, of McDougal Orchards where I
photographed Apples How they Grow so
long ago, Peter Goffin of Falmouth, my broker, and his wife Marsha Clark, Lynn
Sudlow, retired Falmouth librarian, and her guest, Portsmouth attorney
Stephanie, and my former UNH student Steve Gannaway, among others. -Bruce

Lynda Sudlow on the Maine Librarians On-line Bulletin Board, MELIBs, on July 2,
2013 were these kind comments:
"The Springvale
Public Library hosted an opening reception last Thursday for an exhibit by
noted Maine children's book author/illustrator Bruce McMillan. No, it wasn't an
exhibit of photographs, but a sizeable collection of delightful watercolors.
Bruce has been exploring his creativity in other media and the result is proof
that he is multi-talented . . . If you are in the area, I recommend stopping in
and taking a look. Check the library's web page for details, www.springvalelibrary.org."
