Winter's Solstice
Bruce McMillan
On this day of the year,
when the sun is so shy
as we spin on earth's sphere
let this day beautify
the lack of sun's hues, blues,
pushing away the darkness,
indoor flowers out views
celebrating cloudless
moments in winter's cold,
knowing that past these days
the long nights will unfold
to longer day's bouquets.
