Óli stopped so I could take yet another photo of Herðubreið, such a good friend, while we were on the lava desert of the Highlands. We were on the way to Askja on August 6, 2010. I painted this in April 2019. 17" x13" (w x h), Daniel Smith, Schmincke Horadam, and Winsor & Newton watercolors, selected for light fastness and permanence, Prismacolor waterproof fade proof ink, and wax resist on 140 lb. Fabriano Artistico cold press rough 100% cotton extra white watercolor paper. This painting was also juried in for the 19th Annual Regional Open Juried Show at the Barn Gallery, Ogunquit, Maine, US in 2019. Framed, $900
